Western Washington is a prime location for sturgeon fishing and offers anglers the chance for catch-and-release White Sturgeon averaging 5-11 ft or 100-800 lbs.  Many rivers provide year-round fishing opportunities, with the best sturgeon fishing typically occurring in the winter/spring/summer when smelt and shad enter the rivers.
